It's been a while. No excuses. But it has.
I find my self in a strange place as I write this. For the past 4 weeks I have been in pain. Why, I don't know yet. But it seems I MAY have a herniated or "blown" disc in my lumbar, and possibly also an injury of the SI (sacroiliac) joint. I haven't been doing much of anything but staying home and chilling. But that means, NO CROSSFIT!!! GAH! It's killing me!
There is a whole emotional side to pain that I really didn't realize existed. I mean, my husband lives with chronic pain. I just always thought he was cranky. Now I know better. It has also been interesting to confront my food issues now that I cannot work out.
I have dabbled in the Paleo biz, which is to say I go whole hog Paleo for about 2 months at a time. But then our finances or my laziness get the best of me and I start incorporating the wrong foods back into life and the weight loss stops. At least I can see that now....5 years ago I couldn't see what was "causing" my weight gains. But now that I have been pretty much doing NOTHING as far as exercise is concerned for the past month, I have seen 10 lbs rapidly cling back onto me. And I'm becoming great friends with my elasticized items of clothing. UGH. But I have to stop that whole thing right now or I am going to cause irreversible damage to my LARDA55!!
So that's my schpeel. I have a CT scan tomorrow afternoon, and an MRI coming up in a few weeks. Then we'll find out just what the cause of this pain business is all about. I'll keep you posted. Bleh.
